Urban Teacher Center is committed to utilizing data to inform our program and model for continuous program improvement.

UTC ensures that all graduates will be effective teachers by providing

• Courses grounded in content and pedagogy and that are fully integrated into clinical experience within the classroom
• Support during their practicum and student teaching experiences to ensure skill development
• Continuous evaluation of and feedback on their classroom skills and practices

UTC insists that all graduates meet or exceed high measurable standards by

• Maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA
• Using valid, reliable and fair teacher evaluation rubrics to measure classroom skills
• Employ national assessments to measure teacher ability to improve student academic performance

UTC’s Measureable Results Will Impact the Teaching Profession

• School Districts and Charter Management Organizations (CMOs) will build a corps of effective teachers enter schools with proven track records of improving student achievement on national assessments
• Districts/CMOs choose their teachers and preferred teacher program providers based on evidence of effectiveness
• Districts/CMOs strategically staff their neediest schools with cohorts of effective teachers
