Roxanne is committed to designing and providing a rigorous teacher preparation program that generates the kinds of teachers who believe in their students and are fiercely dedicated to doing whatever they can to produce students who are readers, writers, and thinkers as well as advocates for their own communities. Roxanne began her career in education as a 1991 Teach for America corps member in Houston, Texas. After her service, Roxanne returned home to Baltimore, M.D. to continue her work as a teacher and educational consultant. After extensive work in school reform and literacy coaching in the elementary and middle grades with the Fund for Educational Excellence, Roxanne became a National Fellow for the Institute for Learning and the Director of Early Childhood for Children's Literacy Initiative. Roxanne earned her M.Ed. in Curriculum Development and Administration and her B.A. in Cognitive Science.
