A native of Washington, D.C. and a product of D.C. Public Schools, Paula has served as a middle school language arts and high school English teacher for 18 years. She is deeply committed to improving the educational experiences of all students through the support and development of an effective teaching force. During her tenure in education, she has also served in such leadership capacities as department chair, instructional coordinator, high school English specialist and mentor teacher.  Her experiences have included working in D.C. Public Schools, Prince George’s County Public Schools, Baltimore City Public School System, Harford County Public Schools, and as an adjunct instructor for the University of Phoenix Axia Campus. Paula earned a B.A. in English and Secondary Education from Howard University, an M.P.A. in Government Management from Southeastern University, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in K-12 Leadership at Walden University.
